Our commitment to every pup does not waiver when they have special needs. Some of our fluffs have been diagnosed with conditions that significantly reduce the likelihood of traditional adoption while others are terminal. We have amazing volunteers who are committed to fostering these special needs rescue pups until the end. Please consider becoming a sponsor for one of or more of these pups. Your monthly donation may cover the cost of one office visit, a vital prescription or a host of other special needs.
Candie is a 12-year-old bichon mix. She is moderately active but gets very excited when she sees the leash come off the wall. Candie has auto-immune disease which presents as a severe skin allergies, which we have treated since 2017. Her immune system is totally compromised. Candie lives with wonderful fosters who are dedicated to giving her medicated baths every other day to keep her symptom-free and comfortable. This presents a challenge to most adopters but Candie is the sweetest, most loving girl you will ever meet, and she repays you with all the love and kisses. Will you consider helping Candie with a monthly gift?
This is our Sweet Sofia. Her personality is as big as her beautiful name. She’s a petite little girl, about 5 years-old. She is precious, fun and full of spirit. Sofia is considered a special needs pup because she took a fall before becoming a BROC BABE and the doctors said she would NEVER walk again due to a spinal cord rupture. But her foster mom says she has the will to get wherever she wants, nothing holds her back.
BROC got some custom wheels for Sofia and you should see her run. She’s like a horse in its chariot. She is truly adorable. Because Sofia is a special needs pup, finding her forever home will present a bit of a challenge. We are committed to her care until that special adopter is found.
This is Lily, a 10-year-old Maltese mix who is affectionately known to her BROC family as Lively Little Lily. Lily is a tiny little thing, weighing in at only 8 pounds and is vision impaired; but that doesn't slow her down one bit, she gets around just fine.
Lily is a BROC alumni who is in need again. Her momma passed away and so Lily is in our care once again. Lily has some very specific needs. She requires medication for her eyes and a very specific diet. Because she will need a very special adopter, Lily may be with us for a while. Will you help us care for Lily until we find her perfect forever home?
Meet Miss Roxy. She's a 14-year-old Bichon mix. She is sight impaired, yet that does not stop her from getting where she wants to go. We're hoping her forever family will come along but until then, this sweet girl will live in comfort with her foster family. Please consider sponsoring Miss Roxy so we can continue to meet her needs and provide a warm, loving foster home for her.
Sweet Dixie Belle is an 11-year-old Bichon mix. She recently had emergency surgery because of a uterine infection. She's on the mend, living with her foster and we're confident she will make a full recovery. Sweet Dixie Belle is vision and sight impaired and may be with us for a while. Your monthly gift will ensure the very best care and a loving foster home until her very special adopter is found.
Teddy seven-year-old, 12-pound male bichon. Teddy suffered some trauma so he is not instantly trusting. It takes a little more time to accept other people but he is learning to trust. He has been with BROC for quite some time. His foster knows him well and recognizes his fear as well as his calm curiosity. She believes he is ready to be the great companion I was before. Because Teddy will need a very special adopter, he may remain with BROC for quite some time. We are committed to giving him the best quality of life we can until we find him his forever home. Will you please help us care for Teddy while he waits for his special forever home?
Precious Petey in an 8-year-old, 12-pound Bichon boy. He is sweet, cut and lovable. He has a very special Foster who is dedicated to caring for him forever but they need your help. Petey's Foster Mom says he is adorable, eager and energetic, fun and loyal little guy. Because he is so cute, people naturally want to pet him and hold him. However Petey prefers to be the one who approaches and he needs time to get used strangers. He is nervous in unfamiliar situations and might feel the need to protect himself. His BROC Aunties are grateful Petey has a Forever Foster who Petey loves and trusts.
Petey is a healthy little guy but he does need regular annual check ups and a dental cleaning every six months. He's also a good eater and needs to be groomed on a regular basis. Would you consider sponsoring Petey so his Foster Mom can continue to care for him and provide a safe, comfortable home for this sweet little guy?
Juliet is 10-year-old, 16-pound female Bichon Frise mix. She is a sweet senior lady that has so much love to give! She really just wants to please and cuddle. She has a cute little stubborn streak but she responds well to gentle coaxing and words of praise. She loves rolling in the grass and sitting on the porch with her foster family.
Juliet is part of a very special group of pups at BROC. She has mammary tumors and the doctor said the biopsy was inconclusive and the tumors are inoperable. Juliet is likely to live out the remainder of her life in the care of BROC. Your sponsorship would really help with medical bills, food, grooming, and other costs associated with her care. Our main goal for Juliet to make sure she knows she is loved and adored.
