Re-Homing Your Bichon

Re-Homing Your Bichon

The primary mission of Bichon Rescue of Orange County (BROC) is to help Bichons and other small non-shedding breeds that can no longer be cared for by their owners. This assistance extends to owners facing various circumstances that inhibit their ability to provide adequate care for their beloved companions. BROC has a notable track record of successfully rehoming pups with various backgrounds and stories.

  • Senior Pet Owners: Often, senior pet owners find themselves unable to complete the daily tasks necessary to care for their pups. As they age, the physical demands of pet care can become overwhelming.
  • Family Situations: Families often reach out to BROC when they inherit the beloved Bichon of a parent who may not have made provisions for their pet in the event of their death or disability.
  • Financial Constraints: In the current climate of financial uncertainty, some pet owners find themselves unable to afford to care for their Bichon in the manner they know to be best. Economic hardships can force difficult decisions regarding pet care.

Our dedication to these animals ensures they receive the love, care, and stability they deserve, regardless of the challenges their original owners may have faced.

BROC considers all the circumstances surrounding your surrender with empathy and dedication. We know surrendering your pup can be a difficult decision, but we are committed to providing your companion with a home where they can be cared for and loved for the rest of their life. This may be the adoption of your pet to a forever family that is a perfect match, or placing your pet in Sanctuary in the home of a forever family that will love and cherish them until the end.

Our surrender donations are carefully assessed to reflect the individual needs and circumstances of each pup and their family.  This ensures that the surrender donation reflects a fair and equitable assessment of the entire situation. By assessing your pup individually, we strive to provide the best possible future for them, surrounded by love and care.

Rehoming donations start at $350, and Sanctuary donations start at $1000. By assessing your pup individually, we strive to provide the best possible future for them, surrounded by love and care.  These amounts are determined based on a thorough assessment of various factors, including the age and health status of your pup.

The rehoming donation, starting at $350, helps cover the costs associated with providing the necessary care and support while finding a new adoptive family for your pup.

The Sanctuary donation, starting at $1000, goes towards providing a permanent, loving environment for pups that may not be suitable for rehoming due to their health conditions, age, or other factors.  We continue to seek support from our generous donors to care for these pups for life.

We review several factors to ensure that each pup receives the best possible care:

  • Current health conditions
  • Recent medical records
  • Dental care
  • Vaccinations
  • Prescriptions
  • Food requirements

We carefully consider your surrender to ensure that every companion is loved for life. Whether through adoption or Sanctuary, our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for each pup.  Upon surrender, your pup should be groomed, current with vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and ready to become a part of a forever family.  You will also need to provide medical records and contact information for your veterinarian.
