I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Elmo #483

We're happy to tell you that Elmo #483 has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Hello world! My name is Elmo. I'm a 1 year-old, almost 12-pound bichon-maltipoo mix. I was so sad at the shelter. It was so loud and scary! My gorgeous hair was so matted and painful when I arrived that my skin had no air circulation, so it all had to be shaved off (the hair, not the skin). Now my locks are growing back, all soft and fluffy. Even shaved, though, I think I look pretty darned cute, don't you?

My shelter experience did not change me at all, though. I am a sweet and well-mannered boy – always friendly and wagging my tail. I love people! Can't get enough of them. I like other dogs, too, and enjoy greeting them and making friends.

I have some hobbies. For one thing, I find plants and flowers intriguing...and you can't possibly know this (because I can't talk), but I give them names and remember them so I can visit them on my walks. My other favorite hobby is playing with toys, any kind of toy, so fun! They all have names in my head, too. There's Bobo and Fishy and Ropie. (It's true, but I know you don't believe me.)

I just love to go for walks, short hikes (not in the heat though) and car rides. Since I am so young, I really would fit in best with a family with kids to play with or at least active adults. A doggie brother or sister would be nice, too, but I'm OK alone for short periods of time.

I'm loved and well-cared for by my foster family, but I would like to find my forever home soon. I'm fully housebroken and I have had a thorough health examination. (One of my aunties says I'm "move-in ready.")

If you have room in your heart and home for me, please complete an adoption application. https://bichonrescueoc.org/adoption-application
